All of us have some quality that is unique to us and others that we share with millions around us. When these qualities come together, they shape what we call our personality. And if we find celebrities who match our persona, we relate to them even better. PsycholoGenie provides you with a list of famous people from all fields with ENFP traits.
Imagine That!
The legendary creator of the ‘Walt Disney’ brand name, Walter Elias Disney showed characteristics of the ENFP personality type, but was once fired by his editor for, “Lacking imagination and having no good ideas.”
We have all wondered at some point or the other about why we are the way we are, and what makes us different from the rest. But with that individuality, there also comes a need to relate with others around us so as to not feel alienated and too different. Psychology studies the human mind, and amongst the various parameters they study, personality is one of them. And based on research and theories formulated subsequently, they come up with typologies to group people based on shared traits. We will now see what ENFP stands for, their basic characteristics, and celebrities (fictional and non-fictional) with ENFP Personality type.
What is ENFP?
ENFP is one of 16 personality types from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Briggs, which was based on Carl Jung’s typology based on his cognitive function theories deduced through clinical research. They use the Keirsey Temperament Sorter (developed by David Keirsey) to group the personalities based on a test taken.
Out of the 16 types, we focus on ENFP. So, what does it stand for, you ask?
E – Extraversion Preferred to Introversion
People who are extroverted are social animals, who like social interactions and seek adventures, which gives them an emotional boost and aids them to gain energy by being the center of attention.
N – Intuition Preferred to Sensing
The people dwell on the big picture and the future instead of the details and immediate reality.
F – Feeling Preferred to Thinking
They value individual needs over objective reasoning. They weigh social implications before taking up a task.
P – Perception Over Judgment
They don’t enjoy decision-making, and delay their judgment. They rely on their own experiences to understand a situation rather than established norms.
Characteristics
- They are perceptive of the various possibilities that surround them.
- They put change into motion.
- They are warm, charming, risk-taking, enthusiastic and people-oriented, which stimulates those around them.
- They love starting things and working on new ideas, but don’t enjoy following it through.
- They show full potential when put in a flexible setting that calls for creativity and imagination.
- They love novelty, and get disappointed when results fall short of their expectations.
- They are optimistic and yearn to express deep-seated emotions with a dramatic flair.
- They are sensitive and don’t like being controlled. They have a strong idealistic system and try searching for a deeper meaning to life.
- They stand for what they believe in and are leaders.
- They are generally happy people who choose to share that with and spread it among others. So, they genuinely love helping people.
Now that we have a basic idea of what qualities they possess, let’s have a look at all the famous people, be it actors, singers, scientists, politicians, and even fictional characters, whom we know and love, and what makes them a part of this unique personality type.
